It would be advisable to visit the nearest Dunkin' and order a departure drink if you frequently order one of the Coconut Refreshers or if you request coconut milk in your coffee.
Coconut Refreshers will also be discontinued, as the Massachusetts-based chain has affirmed that it will cease the distribution of coconut milk in its U.S. locations by the end of the year.
According to a statement from the company, nondairy alternatives such as oat milk and almond milk will continue to be acceptable for guests to use in their preferred Dunkin' beverages.
Fans of Refreshers have a remedy despite the fact that coconut milk will not be available in 2024. The Mango Pineapple and Strawberry Dragonfruit varieties can still be obtained by substituting green tea for coconut milk, per the spokesperson.
A market analyst hypothesizes that Dunkin's decision to discontinue coconut milk may be due to its comparatively high price, lack of prominence in comparison to other nondairy milks, or both.
The company did not provide an explanation for its decision. Cocoa milk is "the most expensive nondairy option," according to Rober Byrne, director of consumer and industry insights at food service consulting firm Technomic, who spoke with CNN.
In contrast to 3% for oat milk and 5-7% for almond milk, the company's data revealed that a mere 1% of consumers had previously incorporated coconut milk into their Dunkin' orders.
Some guests were apparently sustained for more than two and a half years by the coconut milk and those refreshers; however, by 2024, they will need to transition to a different energy source.
