Spirit Airlines Puts 6-Year-Old Boy On The Wrong Flight

While flying alone from Philadelphia to Florida, a six-year-old child landed in the incorrect region of the Sunshine State.

The intended destination of the boy's flight was Southwest International Airport in Fort Myers.

Spirit Airlines acknowledged that they inadvertently boarded him onto the flight that arrived in Orlando.

Flying alone was in no way his prior experience, much less flying. His visit was to his grandmother.

Casper then informed his grandmother via telephone that he had successfully landed. Fort Myers, however, is situated around 160 miles away from Orlando.

Casper did not make it to Fort Myers with his luggage. His grandmother traveled to Orlando, three hours north, in order to pick him up. The grandmother was offered reimbursement by Spirit Airlines.

Although unaccompanied minors are permitted to fly, they are typically under the guardianship of an airline staff member.

Concerned for the security and accountability of the transportation of every guest, we are presently undertaking an internal inquiry. We extend our sincerest apologies to the family regarding this unfortunate incident.
